About Mediumms – Serving Durham, Raleigh, Cary & Chapel Hill”

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Mediumms, we believe that creativity isn’t a hobby—it’s a practice, a discipline, and a responsibility. Design exists to be both beautiful and functional. Every decision, every pixel, every interaction matters. We create with intention, balancing form and function at the pinnacle of everything we do. Our philosophy is rooted in exploration: challenging norms, experimenting with new ideas, and embracing creative evolution. Mediumms exists to build, refine, and communicate ideas that are authentic, functional, and unapologetically inspired.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Every design must be visually compelling and purposeful. Beauty without strategy is just decoration.

  • We explore, experiment, and push boundaries, whether it’s design, branding, or a new medium entirely.

  • From concept to launch, we eliminate confusion and poor design so ideas shine without compromise.

  • We design for today’s needs and tomorrow’s evolution, keeping flexibility and creative curiosity at the heart of the work.

Our mission is to explore, experiment, and elevate ideas—turning inspiration into purposeful work while keeping form, function, and creative evolution at the heart of everything we do.

THE OWNER

SUMMER leverette

It begins with an immense passion for design and Summer’s innate understanding of how design influences our day-to-day lives, in all forms, from toothbrushes to custom-framed artwork. Summer Leverette has always had a keen awareness of design through a multi-media lens. But her exploration of creative expression began at the very young age of 4 when she was introduced to film photography by her dad. She can still recall her first purple camera, learning not to waste valuable film, how light enters the camera, and how to frame a subject.

Summer took up Commercial Photography in college at The University of Maryland Easter Shore, where she was embedded with a great understanding of conceptual design and how to effectively and expressivley use design principles and elements. Her “Aha moment” was in 2003 when she realized that if she could truly understand each of these design components and how they work individually, she could inherently succeed in creating form and functional pieces across all mediums.

After her studies at UMES Summer saw an industry demand for Graphic Design, specifically revolving around business branding and communication. And one thing Summer had a firm grasp on, was understanding the mechanics of design, and how people interpret design. So using her firm foundation of design principles as the backbone for her impactful and visually engaging deliverables today, Mediumms emerged. A space made for business owners to access design resources, and a space for Summer to express herself in more than one creative language.

Now clothed with industry knowledge and years of practice, Summer has maintained staying ahead of the curve and trends with her clean, modern, and timeless designs. Remaining a viable asset for small businesses, Summer uses her continued reputation of design communication to help businesses profit through visual impact and truly connecting with their ideal audience.
